Since about ten years there is a new way of filming and a new way of using computer games. It's called Machinima and it uses the possibilities of games to create movies.
This thesis takes a short look on the history of real-time animation, followed up by an analysis of how Machinima-movies are produced and wich opportunities and options Machinima gives the amateur as well as the professional. This is rounded up by a look on the impact Machinima have or may have on the other medias and society in general. The Video-DVDs that goes along with the thesis are available through Bittorrent and contain many machinima movies. Big thanks for support and a lot more are going to Prof. Bartholdy. It was a pleasure!
